The Shapton Sharpening Pond provides a stable base to hold individual GlassStone Holders. It is made of rubber and glass so it can be rinsed off easily.
This base weighs over 7 pounds which ensures that your stones will not move while you are sharpening. 
The Shapton Sharpening Pond is great for those who do not have a dedicated sharpening sink. Just place the stone holder directly in the pond and it will hold all the water used. It makes cleanup after sharpening a snap.
