The Base Point will sharpen carving gouges, molding plane blades and anything with a concave edge. The Base Point is ideal for sharpening all hard to reach areas and serrated knife blades.
Arkansas Stones are ideal for sharpening because they won't wear out and lose their shape as fast as other sharpening materials.
